Steve, you're right about that. Rene's directions are very good. If I was continuing to have a problem, that's what I would try next. The thing is, I am no longer experiencing the auto-shifting, and I now have unfettered full use of the full range of gearing. I assume, then, that the derailer is aligned properly.
