You can't remove them "again" because they were never removed before.
Color mismatch is because of opacity, and opacity is there for a couple of
reasons[^1] that can be addressed.
[^1]: *viewport size for intersection observer* and *too colorful for mostly
black & white sidebar content* if I remember correctly
