I have often asked myself this same question, however the RFC's do not list such a thing (strange as it may seem). I don't have a copy of the Radius extensions RFC with me at the moment, but there may be something listed in it. I would also expect the new AAA protocol that is being worked on at the moment would have this defined.

For the present I think you will have to use a vendor specific.
