For testing it is much simpler to use the "radpwtst" utility that is included
as part of the standard Radiator distribution. It is documented in section 8 in
the reference manual.

There are ways of running serial ports for dialup on Linux, but I am not
familiar with the details. Perhaps someone else on the list has some pointers?
