Ooops - you are partly right. The AcctLogFileName is intended for a
Realm/Handler, but you can have as many RewriteUsername's as you like, and you
can use them in an AuthBy GROUP.

So - one more try ....

<Realm .....>
        AcctLogFileName .......
        <AuthBy GROUP>
                RewriteUsername .......
                <AuthBy .....>
                        .....
                </AuthBy>
        </AuthBy>
</Realm>
