I did a bit of experimentation.  I added this line:

AddToReply User-Name="%U"

to our <AuthBy> thing.  Then in my Total Control I added:

ENABLE RADIUS USE_RADIUS_USERNAME

and in my Ascend Max 6048 I set 'Ethernet::Mod Config::Auth...::Keep User
Name' to 'Change Name'.

It looks like both the MAX and the TC now take the user name from the
User-Name attribute in the reply item... Success!

Now in my accounting files, even if people put a 'P' or 'S' before their
login name, only the 'pure' login name shows up, which solves my
Session-Database problem without having to make a custom insert.

Now if only the PortMaster 2e could do that, I'd be all set! :-)
