Suggesting that sections in the Guide and Refernce manual should perhaps link to one another.

There are already some such links, and it only helps me a little.  I think probably different people have different usage scenarios and ways of using the manuals.  It's not intuitive to me that many people would prefer separate Guide and Reference manuals in a contemporary Web browser, while in the middle of work tasks (as opposed to leisurely reading), but I can't argue with preferences.[1]

I don't know the distribution of needs and preferences.  Unless there's a chorus of other people yearning for unified Guide and Reference, I'll return to suffering quietly.

[1] Although we could strap a person to a human factors study chair setup -- with timers, videoing, gaze tracking, brain imaging, and lots of electrodes -- to try to get some idea of productivity.  But they might still prefer what turns out to be a demonstrably less-productive way, and also decide they now prefer reading Guides in our very expensive chair!
