I'm encountering the same problem as Matt was. Any help on that? [racket 6.6 on Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 (fails on both)]
Incidentally, if I change "localhost" in the spawn-remote-racket-node to some other host, the example seems to work correctly. This points to my more general problem. I have a distributed program that previously used the riot package but for which I'd like to use distributed places. However, the program needs to run both on a multi-core machine in isolation, and on a set of distinct machines. I was able to get a solution working for separate machines but ran into these socket errors when trying to make it work on a single machine.
