Well, I had tried that and the problem was, as I mentioned in my previous message, that "nor is there an htdp section in the `choose language...' dialog".
Now I tried on another machine, and yes, there is such an htdp section. And the stepper works as expected. But I don't remember having explicitly uninstalled htdp on my machine. And also, yesterday I reinstalled (getting the latest .dmg) and the same happened. - how come this disappeared? - how can I get it back?
