Racket is an amazing thing and sometimes I feel badly that not enough people know about and appreciate it.
The team and community does a very, very good job of promoting it in numerous ways. I am in no way being critical of that -- not one bit. I do think there are some missed opportunities such as the RacketCon videos. Sometimes I've wondered if it would help to have someone designated in a "product marketing" role. Even if it would be only a part-time or school-seasonal position. I don't know enough about academia to guess how this could be funded or resourced; for instance is there a partnership with a business or marketing program. Or maybe it's a CS student with an entrepreneurial inclination. I honestly have no idea. If it had to be funded via donations from Racket users, I believe many of us would try to help in that regard; at least I would. I sincerely hope my lobbing out this suggestion doesn't make anyone unhappy. I mean it in a completely positive spirit of wishing to see something that's already excellent and successful become even more so. ____________________ Racket Users list: http://lists.racket-lang.org/users
