I don't have the corresponding machine to replicate, but I recall something 
related to the fact that the display of the machine may be too small to 
accommodate the requested device size (the size specification is in inches). If 
the display is too small, you may want to reduce the requested size, e.g. with
quartz.options(width=5,height=5)
Is my recollection correct?
