I was looking to test the R4.0.5 binaries from mac.r-project.org, but it seems that the R-4.0-branch items are actually 4.1 r-devel, currently. I am not super familiar with these as I only recently started using them, but IIRC at least when I was testing 4.0.4 I seem to recall being able to just untar the tar.gz as per instructions and have it available via e.g. Rswitch. Inspecting the tar.gz I see a mostly empty folder under:
Library/Frameworks/R.frameworks/Versions/4.0 But a complete one under: Library/Frameworks/R.frameworks/Versions/4.1 Of the same tar.gz. Again, I'm not super familiar with this set-up, but in previous versions this "just worked", so it feels like maybe something isn't right here. The tar.gz in question is labeled: "Mar 25 20:43".
