Seems odd that R can’t find libjvm outside of sudo. From R, run
Sys.getenv() and check your DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH variables. Should be ‘[..]/Home/jre/lib/server’ in there somewhere.
