I just updated my R installation on my MacBook Pro, downloading the indicated
R-3.0.1.pkg.
All the components seem to have loaded appropriately, inasmuch as the
installation got rid of the older packages, including the older R64 app.
Starting the Mac R.app GUI give startup messages that show all the proper
version numbers.
Nonetheless, in the course of 3 hours of work, I've had the GUI R console and
the associated Help windows freeze, necessitating forced quits. To be frank, I
am a new user and am banging on the help utility quit a lot. So these freezes
are not from technically sophisticated operations. But may attend the
extensive hopping I am doing between the help windows and the console.
Apologies if the underlying cause is something trivial to those adepts out
there.
