Hi all,

I am currently looking into the applicability of the Veg-X standard and
specifically its implementation in R through the VegX package by Miquel Caceres
and the IAVS Ecoinformatics Working Group.

Stopping short of contacting the busy author and the group directly, I like to
ask here if someone would be willing to discuss practical experience and
challenges implementing Veg-X for a large amount of legacy datasets. My
questions are rather open, e.g. what was your workflow to integrate legacy
data, how did you deal with additional parameters (e.g. important
meta-information regarding disturbances, planted species/plantations, flooding
duration, multiple topography parameters at once...)

If anyone has practical experience with this standard and package and would be
willing to share it, I would appreciate if you contact me directly, since this
is (not yet) purely R-ecology related.

Thank you!

  Arne Erpenbach
