Dear Rolf, Sorry you're still having problems with this. If you still would like to build R-4.1.0 from source (instead of using a Docker image or some binary package), could you share your config.log using a service like https://paste.debian.net/ ?
It's also... interesting that you got a "permission denied" while trying to run R. Which version of R was that?
