Writing R Extensions is the "official" documentation, written by the R
Core group. R-pkgs.org is a web site based on Hadley Wickham's book
about R.
Sorry, I was thinking of a different book. The R-pkgs.org book is by
Hadley Wickham and Jennifer Bryan. Jennifer is the principal author of
usethis, which likely explains the emphasis on that package.
