All, We have (finally) started testing our packages with r-revel on Digital Ocean virtual machines.
To automate the initial setup, we have started creating Makefiles to help get a clean VM set up with all of the libraries and packages needed to build and check our own packages with R-devel. https://github.com/jonathancallahan/DigitalOcean-R-setup So far, only the Debian 7.0 and 8.1 Makefiles are fully set up for R-devel. I hope that these Makefiles may help others harness DigitalOcean to thoroughly test packages before submitting them to CRAN.
