Steven,

Package 'XML_2.6-0.tar.gz' is the Linux version,
it doesn't unpack in Windows.
For Windows you need to download and instal:
'XML_2.6-0.zip'.
Which is available from:
http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin/bin/windows/contrib/2.10/

Cheers,

Augusto

/cygdrive/c/Rtools/bin/tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
/cygdrive/c/Rtools/bin/tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
ERROR: error unpacking tarball
Warning message:
In install.packages(pkgs = "C:\\Documents and
Settings\\skang\\Desktop\\SK\\Softwares\\R\\Library\\XML_2.6-0.tar.gz", :
  installation of package
'C:/DOCUME~1/skang/Desktop/SOFTWA~1/R/Library/XML_2.6-0.tar.gz' had non-zero
exit status I have installed Rtools from
http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ and have added 'Rtools\bin' to the
