Dear all,

Is there a way of I deal with more than one kind of separators
when reading a asc file using scan() function?
The separators could be ":", "\t" and ";".

Yes, pre-process the file (e.g. use a pipe connection and 'tr', or read the file with readLines, edit it with gsub and then scan() from a textConnection).

Kind regards
