ggplot(s8_plot, aes(fill=GTresult, y=cases, x=gc_label)) + geom_bar(position="stack", stat="identity")) + theme(axis.text.x = element_text(angle = 90, hjust = 1)) By "hjust" you make sure that labels do not overlap on plot.
