Because it is a symbolic link.

?.libPaths says

"For consistency, the paths are always normalized by normalizePath(winslash = 
"/")."

and ?normalizePath says

"...the Unix-alike platform ... attempts to turn paths into absolute paths in 
their canonical form (no ./, ../ nor symbolic links)."
