This idea of hijacking failed connections has been tried before and it breaks many things beyond R software and most ISPs have given up on doing this. If you, who have this "feature" at hand can figure out a reliable way to detect this then it might be "considered". However, it seems unlikely that a general solution can be found after all this time, so the better option is probably for you to disable this "feature". -- Sent from my phone.
