Hi Shivi, I usually do
merge.salaries$name <- paste(merge.salaries$nameFirst, merge.salaries$nameLast) also if merge.salaries[, name:=paste("nameFirst","nameLast")] would work, you would end up with a column full of "nameFirst nameLast".
