Hi At first, as a new user of R (why have I been waiting for so long ?), let me tell you how I highly appreciate this fanstastic free tool! (The enthusiasm of a new fan?!)
When recently carrying out an extreme value analysis, I consumed a lot of time for dealing with the arguments of the qgpd function. Refering to the manual Package fExtremes, I specified xi=val2, mu=0, beta=val1 coming from gpd.fit and I got the Error message : arguments unused. I finally found out in the reference manual of the Package evd that the qgpd needed the arguments loc=0, scale=val1, shape=val2 (with clearer names). And it worked! May I suggest to correct the reference manual of the Package fExtremes? If this Help forum is not dedicated to that kind of message, would you please transfer it to the appropriate R forum. Thank you in advance Best regards Patrick ELIAS CSTB-DESH-ES 14 bd Isaac Newton - Bâtiment Bienvenüe Plot A F-77420 CHAMPS SUR MARNE Tél : 33 (0)1 40 50 28 60 - Fax : 33 (0)1 40 50 29 10 Site Internet : http://les.cstb.fr<http://les.cstb.fr/> En n'imprimant pas ce message vous réduisez votre dépense de papier et vous préservez l'environnement.
