I read there are several R functions to get the Maximum Likelihood Estimates of a probability distribution with the available data in R. For Example... http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-devel/library/stats4/html/mle.html mle {stats4} http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-devel/library/stats/html/optim.html optim {stats} http://rgm2.lab.nig.ac.jp/RGM2/func.php?rd_id=bbmle:mle2 mle2 {bbmle} http://rgm2.lab.nig.ac.jp/RGM2/func.php?rd_id=maxLik:maxLik maxLik{maxLik} ..... Can I honestly know which is best and how they differ?
