I usually just install the new version over the old one (to the same folder), then update.packages(ask=FALSE) This particular upgrade required update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE,ask=FALSE) I do this way since R version 1.6 (or even 1.4), and everything works fine and smooth. Sometimes I have to manually delete older README's or something like this. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Updating-R-Software-without-complete-new-installation-tf4632860.html#a13230136 Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________ R-help@r-project.org mailing list https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-help PLEASE do read the posting guide http://www.R-project.org/posting-guide.html and provide commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code.
