I must be missing something. How exactly is this such a problem for them? Where by them, I include myself, because I just installed a customized version of qpsmtpd for a client, with a custom plugin that will never find its way into the qpsmtpd source tree. If someone has a private hacked up version and wants to merge with the latest release, they just need to run perltidy on their private version first, using the same .perltidyrc file as the one in the distribution.
