I consider this on the level of gratuitous changes that aren't worth doing unless it's part of a much bigger overhaul/cleanup (eg: the "Unifying QP" thread).
I consider this patch to be part of a much bigger overhaul/cleanup effort; however I get the impression that QP upstream prefers to see such large operations submitted as a series of distinct smaller patches. This is pretty sensible, as it's easier on reviewers to determine whether each change is really valuable. I've made quite a few minor or stylistic changes to our fork of QP and my plan is to get them into shape and submit them separately, allowing upstream to cherry-pick what actually makes sense to them. When it's all over, the hope is that we will only have a few areas where I simply have to compromise and adhere to the way upstream decided to go, in order for our code to be that much easier to keep in sync. For instance, we might just have to stop calling it NEXT and call it DECLINED like everybody else :)
