After my difficulties a few weeks ago with the existing greylisting plugin,
I spent a weekend writing one of my own and now have it in production on my
firewalls.

Advantages that this plugin has over the one that comes with qpsmtpd include:

    * It does not require or use file locking.
    * It stores the data in the file system for quick access and modification
      using command line tools.
    * It has hooks allowing source addresses that match a pattern to be
      folded togther into the same buckets to minimize delays when VERP
      is used.
    * It can pool all hosts in a subnet together for sites that may send a
      message from more than one address on a network.

More information and a link to the software may be found on my blog at:

                uptime or reactively pay for downtime?
