I'm considering to try a deb-package of 0.40 on a way less than mission critical mx running debian stable...

Does anyone here have any experiences with using qpsmtpd from either lenny or etch-backports (any other?); is it even worth bothering with them at all (compared with just installing/setting it up yourself), or will they just end up being a source of problems?

(Yeah, I know, "shut up and use the tarball like all the other nerds"; but with old age I've become addicted to using packages... The first time with aptitude it just felt strange, but then it became easier and easier... it was aptitude install this, aptitude install that... and before I knew it I was using cron to get my aptitude-fix even when I was asleep... and now here I am... begging for advice on how to best use a non-stable package on a production server... but it's ok, you see, I can quit anytime I want to, I just don't want to... the packages make me feel good, they are my friends...)
