Maybe semi-offtopic to your question, but your question made me finally take the time to ask something I've been wondering about for awhile now:

Am I the only one worrying/thinking about how people are semi-lazily using qpsmtpd plugins for tasks better handled by a firewall?

For instance, why get used to having a plugin like geo_blacklist (or maybe worse, rely on a DNSBL for the same functionality) when having that functionality outside of qpsmtpd forces people to think about what areas to apply what restrictions on?! Ok, so maybe blacklisting countries isn't the best way to deal with spam, but if you're going to do it, then why not block all services but VPN and the non-admin areas of your website at the same time as you're blocking SMTP from that "dangerous" country?!

I don't want to make this about specific plugins/problems/solutions, instead I'm curious if you see a trend here and/or have some thoughts about this; maybe you even have faced the "where should I implement this"- question and have some facts/data to share?
