None of the messages show up with bogus dates in my Thunderbird. The
date header on Robert's original message looked like
Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2005 15:21:56 -0400
which doesn't seem bogus, and I didn't see any particularly weird
headers (certainly nothing malformed).
Maibe your mail server(s) corrected it, because it shows up as
"1969-12-31 19:00" in my Thunderbird and the spamassassin MISSING_DATE
test was triggered on the server.
Yes, that seems to be what happened. Looking closer, I see that the
"Date:" line is not near the "From:", "To:", and "Subject:" (which
aren't next to each other either) but up near the top of the message,
right under the "Received:" line added by my mail server, and the time
matches that "Received:" line, not the one added at develooper.com,
which is 16 sec earlier.
The date line was missing but my mail server added one, so I didn't notice.
