Regarding people scanning my domain for valid mailboxes - well, the
check_early_talker plugin introduces a delay before my server even
introduces an SMTP response. This is an automatic tar pit - any such robot
would have to work for hours before it can find one good email address.
I think spammers no longer use such harvesters on servers that contain tar
pits. It makes the whole thing useless and inefficient for them, not to
mention it keeps their robot on my server long enough for me to detect their
origin and place some phone calls to their ISP.
