Usually, all error messages coming from chkuser, as well as any other error coming from smtp servers or MX servers, are for other servers, not for clients.

In the dialogue between servers, those errors are handled in a different way. When a receiving system warns about "No existing user", a server continues to send remaining recipients, and prepares a warning message to sender for not existing users. Instead, when a "normal" client get back an error, it stops immediately any operation.

Thinking better, this CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT variable could exist if you want to put an hard limit for normal clients, as the client will stop sending after the first error (that is what you want in this case).

Okay, not sure why you would allow any user unbounded send capability authenticated or not, but anyway. Thank you Tonino your insight got me to recheck and there was another tcprules in use I forgot about.
Problem solved.
Yay!

This variable should not be used when accepting messages from authenticated users for relaying.
It should be used when foreign senders send to our MX.

Anyway, are you using same cdb file fot all systems?

Hi Folks,
Starting having issues with a single client needing to send numerous emails in one dump.
I have modifies tcp.rules to allow CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="50"
done qmailctl cdb
restarted qmail and it still refuses to let 10 or more be sent.
Am I missing something here?

TIA ;)
