I set :

mail-directory=Maildir

in /usr/local/lib/pine.conf.fixed....I guess you would need to set it to
Mailbox?

I do not set the inbox-path (not sure why you would for maildirs, anyone
know?), works fine for pine4.32 with patch-for-maildirs
