Thanks, is there a reason why it doesn't exit with non-zero status for
these kind of errors?

I ran into this issue on gentoo where portage just kept going and tried
to install qmail-scanner-queue.pl etc and later left a borked
installation. While that isn't an issue for qmail-scanner I believe it
would simplify things if it did return non-zero status when it fails.
