Hi,

I'll try to explain the situation clearly. I have a very busy
server running qmail+vpopmail+qmail-scanner+spamassassin+clamd, a
typical setup.

The problem is that in the last weeks, and due to an increasing
amount of spam and a growing amount of domains -and, due to it, mails
to be scanned-, the server performance is starting to be serioulsy
affected by the spamd daemons.

I'd like to run the spamd proccess in another host in order to free
resources from the mailhost, and I tried to redirect 127.0.0.1:783 ->
the_other_host:localhost:783 (and, of course, stopping first the local
spamd process) but despite the remote spamd.log shows the normal
scanning and tagging activity, the local messages are spam-tagged as
?/?, which means there's some kind of contiguration error. I reverted
the configuration to the original state to get all running properly
again.

As the spamd daemon has the "-A" option to specify which hosts are
allowed to connect to it, I suppose there must be some kind of switch
or configuration available somewhere in order to get the spam analysis
to be made against another another host insted of localhost -which I
guess its done by default-. I've reviewed carefully the qmail-scanner
options and have found nohting about this. How can I achieve this task?

Thanks in advance,

Ruben.
