I need mail from a certain host on my local network to be scanned by
SpamAssassin. It is my understanding that it's possible to force
SpamAssassin to check mail from a local machine by setting
QS_SPAMASSASSIN="1" for the appropriate host entry in the tcp.smtp
file. In addition, setting the RELAYCLIENT var is also supposed to
invoke SpamAssassin. Accordingly, the host's entry looks like this:

207.xxx.xxx.xxx:allow,RELAYCLIENT="1",QS_SPAMASSASSIN="1",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl"

Naturally, the CDB file was rebuilt with "tcprules tcp.smtp.cdb
tcp.smtp.tmp < tcp.smtp."

However, mail sent from this host is still not scanned, although mail
from non-local hosts are scanned properly. Qmail-Scanner seems to be
ignoring the set variables, which is most puzzling. Any thoughts on
this matter would be most welcome.
