Permissions problem. Run kavscanner as a non root user and you'll see. I had to make these changes: chmod a+rwx /var/log/kav/5.5/kav4mailservers chmod o+rx /var/db/kav/5.5/kav4mailservers/licenses chmod a+rw /var/db/kav/5.5/ichecker.db chmod a+rwx /var/db/kav/5.5 Or you can add qscand to klusers group.
