Hello all,
I am experiancing this error when trying to recieve some legitimate
emails: "g_e_h: no sender and no recips.". This is reported to the
sending mx server as error "451 qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)". What I
don't understand is that I can recieve some emails and not others. This
error only seems to affect some messages and some servers, I can give you some exact messages that have bounced if anyone would like to examine them. I am running qmailscanner 1.25 with the st and qms-analog patches, spamassassin 3.02, and clamav 0.83. I have triple checked permissions, and raised the softlimits to 11MB to make sure there was enough memory. I am running qmail-scanner-queue.pl using the cwrapper program from the contrib dir, I have removed the "-T" from the shebang line, and removed the suid bit from qmail-scanner-queue.pl, and added it to qmail-scanner-queue. I really do not know what else to try at this point. I have included the verbose output of one of the failed sessions from my qmail-queue.log, and the output from "qmail-scanner-queue -v". I upgraded the following components at the same time and did not experience this error before: spamassassin, clamav, and qmail-scanner-queue.pl. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a complete loss as to what else to try. Also please send a copy of all responses directly to me as well as the list since this email account is on the affected server, and I may need to look in the archive to see your response.
Scanners: perlscanner, clamscan_scanner, spamassassin, perlscan_scanner
Scanner versioning: spamassassin: 3.0.2. perlscan: 1.25-st-qms.
Hi there are some stranges things in your system, the clamv version is missing, maybe you have to run qmail-scanner-queue -z to fix that. But this surely is not the cause of the problem.
I think that 11 MB is a too low memory for your scanners, try something like 24 MB (at least).

Thank you for the reply, I wrote that I had the soft limits set to 11MB, but I in fact have them set to 104.1MB (110000000 bytes). I know that this is an excessive amount, but I wanted to make absolutly sure that it was not memory constraints. After I figure out what the problem is, I will reduce the softlimits to a more reasonable size. I also ran qmail-scanner-queue -z just in case...
Thank you,
