This is a bug in sophie that has started to manifest itself on newer Linux
systems - like Fedora Core 2. The author of sophie has said he's moving onto
newer and better things, and no-one appears to be picking it up.

I'd say the long-term future of sophie is in doubt :-(

Doesn't help. What about in the live environment where there may be an
unpacked zip file creating 5 levels of subdirs? Q-S is not going to pass
that file tree to sophie.

Sophie no longer works :-(

- err "-s" points to the socket file - not a directory.

That gets you past the configure checks - but it doesn't mean sophie is
reliably useful on your system.

It's a real pity - sophie (and trophie) worked really well... :-(
