I don't know how much this might help or not, but qmail-scanner comes with a file called "test_installation.sh" which is in the src directory under contrib.
If you run that, it tests all your different checks; Perl, AV, and SPAM. It uses the GTUBE in the SPAM email which would register around 100+ for SPAM. You could also turn on DEBUG in the qmail-scanner-queue.pl file.
