I have pinpointed what line is causing the problem. When I change this line :
my @scanner_array=(); TO my @scanner_array=("spamassassin"); This is when I get the message. Without this line, it is not running Spamassassin, but it passes the mail thru successfully. Is this a problem with the Spamassassin module ? I'm using Spamassassin 2.63. It looks like to me that your smtp daemon is doing a name server lookup and the name server isn't listening. You can check this with: dig claven.pwgsc.gc.ca mx Good luck, Paul. -----Original Message----- From: Vee Persaud [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 08, 2004 6:17 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Qmail-scanner-general]Problem with QS and Solaris ? Hi, I'm having this issue with QS and I saw an item in list about 2-3 weeks ago but I did not see a solution. When I run QS, I get this message in my /var/log/qmailscan/qmail-queue-log : Mon, 07 Jun 2004 16:10:03 EDT:24065: +++ starting debugging for process 24065 by uid=212 Mon, 07 Jun 2004 16:10:03 EDT:24065: w_c: elapsed time from start 0.195487 secs Mon, 07 Jun 2004 16:10:03 EDT:24065: return-path='[EMAIL PROTECTED]', recips='[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Mon, 07 Jun 2004 16:10:03 EDT:24065: from='<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>', subj='test from Rogers acct - 4:09', via SMTP from 66.185.86.71 I also get this message in my /var/adm/messages : Jun 7 16:10:03 claven smtpd: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1086639003.962812 unix dgram connect: Socket operation on non-socket at /dev/fd/3 line 596 Jun 7 16:10:03 claven smtpd: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1086639003.984340 getservbyname failed for tcp at /dev/ fd/3 line 600 Jun 7 16:10:03 claven smtpd: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1086639003.987818 udp connect: nobody listening at /dev /fd/3 line 600 Jun 7 16:10:03 claven smtpd: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1086639003.991373 no connection to syslog available at /dev/fd/3 line 600 This prevents the message from being processed (it's a local account on my qmail server). Any ideas. I'm running Solaris 9 and Perl 5.8.4 alon with Qmail 1.03 and QS 1.22.
