You forget the world we live in. Don't forget I had to implement "bounced
mail scanning" so that Q-S could specifically catch viruses contained within
"appended" bounces. Even though no end-user could be infected by them

Why? Because OTHER products do that :-( And if Q-S didn't catch them, then
we get the onslaught of messages to this list saying "why didn't Q-S catch
this virus when product X did?". It was such messages that made me add it in
the first place.

Some times you have to be seen to be "correct" - even when it doesn't
matter...
