I'm running suse server 8.0 with qmail 1.05 (from lifewithqmail.org). I
installed qmail-scanner-1.21 and during the install I ran into the
"Can't do setuid" mentioned int he FAQ. I did the following fix:

chown root /usr/bin/suidperl
chmod 4711 /usr/bin/suidperl

and everything seemed peachy keen. Anyway, about 10 days later I
started noticing "Can't do setuid" in my qmail log file. So I did the
chmod again on /usr/bin/suidperl. Then again today (5 days since the
last time I had to chmod) I noticed the "can't do setuid" in my logs.
What gives? Anyone have any idea what keeps changing this file? For no
reason the permissions get changed to the following after a couple of
days:

-rwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1126778 Jul 22 2003 suidperl

after I do the chmod 4711 /usr/bin/suidperl

rws--x--x 2 root root 1126778 Jul 22 2003 suidperl
