Jesse,

I have a question about your excellent HOWTO. By the way I took your HOWTO and modified ever so slightly http://rick.updegrove.net/spamd-daemontools-guide.txt for spamd and it also works great except for the logging issue I am bring up now that affects both of them.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ # l /var/log/clamd (spamd is the same - empty)
total 4.0k
drwxr-xr-x 2 qscand qscand 512 Mar 11 23:34 ./
drwxr-xr-x 12 root wheel 1.5k Mar 21 03:06 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 qscand qscand 0 Mar 11 23:34 current
-rw------- 1 qscand qscand 0 Mar 11 23:34 lock
-rw-r--r-- 1 qscand qscand 0 Mar 11 23:34 state

As you can see the log file is empty. However, readproctitle shows stuff like:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ # ps wwwwaux | grep readp
root 81 0.0 0.1 868 192 con- I Sat01PM 0:19.80 readproctitle service errors: ...ing meta tests; score so far=1.312\ndebug: auto-learn? ham=0.1, spam=12, body-hits=1.312, head-hits=0\ndebug: auto-learn: currently using scoreset 1. no need to recompute.\ndebug: auto-learn? no: inside auto-learn thresholds\ndebug: is spam? score=1.312 required=5 tests=HTML_20_30,HTML_IMAGE_ONLY_08,HTML_MESSAGE\nlogmsg: clean message (1.3/5.0) for [EMAIL PROTECTED]:0 in 1.3 seconds, 1888 bytes.\n

Ok I am assuming that stuff from readproctitle should be in /var/log/clamd/current or maybe even /var/log/spamd/current or both so the mrtg stats for spamd and clamd will work.
(they currently do not of course)

The run file I am using is the one from your HOWTO.

http://rick.updegrove.net/spamd-daemontools-guide.txt

I guess the question I am asking is, does /var/log/clamd/current work for you?

Rick
