This has happened twice so far, the 'working' directory of /var/spool/qmailscan takes up all the inodes on the partition a nd crashes the server.
Why does this happen, why are those files kept there, shouldn't they be flushed periodically, and how do i stop this happening again? I've got some very peeved customers :/
Those files must be deleted each time qmail-scanner finished processing a message.
This is the line that must do it:
system("$rm_binary -rf $ENV{'TMPDIR'}/ $scandir/$wmaildir/new/$file_id") if ($DEBUG < 100 && $file_id ne "");
