Hi,
Ý
I am currently using qmail-scanner + sweep and want to
switch to Sophie.

Downloaded the latest build of Sophie (Version
3.04rc2) and followed the FAQ in Q-S website. We found
the process is up in "ps -ef | grep sophie" showing
/usr/sbin/sophie -c /etc/sophie.cfg -D
is running.

But I can't find sophie.pid and sophie socket file in
/var/run. This, I suspect, is the reason why Q-S
configure told me "Something like sophie for Sophos
detected - but not correctly installed.".

Can someone share your precious experience?

Thank you!

You have to copy the files from the directory etc in the distribution to /etc/

This is how I did:

cd <sophie distribution dir>
cp etc/sophie.cfg /etc/
cp etc/sophie.savi.sophos /etc/sophie.savi

Edit /etc/sophie.cfg e and modify the following lines:

socketfile: /var/spool/qmailscan/sophie
user: qscand
group: qscand

You also will do the following links (or /usr/local/lib/libsavi*):

# ll /usr/lib/libsavi*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root   root        12 Jun 28  2003
/usr/lib/libsavi.so -> libsavi.so.3
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root   root        21 Jan 31 17:55
/usr/lib/libsavi.so.2 -> libsavi.so.3.2.07.038
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root   root        21 Jan 31 17:55
/usr/lib/libsavi.so.3 -> libsavi.so.3.2.07.038
-r-xr-xr-x    1 bin    bin    1383512 Jan 31 17:55
/usr/lib/libsavi.so.3.2.07.038

Cheers
