I have an ADSL connection, so I collect mail from my ISP using fetchmail
which delivers to qmail.

Qmail-scanner then identifies all mail as coming from localhost (127.0.0.1)
so the different treatment of incoming mail according to source (in
/etc/tcp.smtp) does not happen - all incoming mail is regarded by qmail as
local as well as mail genuinely from localhost. Only local network mail,
which is not handled by fetchmail, gets correctly identified.

Is there a way for qmail-scanner to look at the original sender address in
the email to determine if it is really local or from a non-local sending IP?

Thanks, Ken
